MISSION & VISION OF SCRIPTURE IN STONE

Enriching Christian understanding of the Word of God through the study and exploration of biblical places.

Vision of Scripture in Stone:

Having personally been blessed with opportunities to study the eternal truths of God’s Word in biblical lands, we have a strong sense of calling to share this experience with others.

We often hear of pastors being gifted a trip to the Holy Land for their retirement.  Certainly this is a wonderful blessing.  Our vision is that pastors would have the blessing of this experience earlier in their ministry to the benefit of the congregations they serve, but with no financial burden to the pastor or their congregation.

The cultural and physical setting of ancient biblical sites, where God revealed truths and guided his people along the path of salvation, illuminates scripture in unique ways.

Scripture In Stone facilitates this experience by:

  • Providing Pastors and their spouses with a personal experience of ancient biblical lands.  Pastors will then utilize this experience to inspire their preaching and teaching.  Experiencing the history and culture of biblical times and places deepens understanding of scriptural truths and adds a powerful spark of interest and relatability to study of God’s Word.

  • Spreading awareness of the illuminating effects of biblical archeology through sharing visual content via social media platforms and in-person presentations.

Scripture in Stone Faith Statement

We believe, teach and confess the Christian faith as revealed in God’s Word and summarized by the three ecumenical creeds (The Apostles Creed, The Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed).

We believe that the Bible is God’s inspired, authoritative, inerrant and infallible Word, in which He reveals His Law and His Gospel of salvation in Jesus Christ. It is the sole rule and norm for Christian doctrine.

We believe that the Bible reveals the love of God:

  • the Father, creator of all that exists;

  • Jesus Christ, the Son, who became human to suffer and die for the sins of all human beings and to rise to life again in the ultimate victory over sin, death and Satan; and

  • the Holy Spirit, who creates faith through God’s Word and Sacraments.
