Rome and Pozzuoli November 2024

Dozens of hours planning, new walking shoes purchased, stacks of books consulted, all Delta Sky Mile points cashed in - and we off to Rome!!

We have a two week trip planned to Rome and Pozzuoli Italy in November.  We will be focused on photo and drone footage of biblical topics/sites and early church history.

Three days will be spent tracking the apostle Paul’s route from the port of Puteoli to Rome.  HUGE thank you to Dr Glen Thompson who spent 3 hours of his valuable time and expertise with us on zoom showing via goggle earth the routes and places detailed in he and Mark Wilson’s recent book “In This Way We Came To Rome”.  Excellent book and it will be in the backpack! We will even be bravely renting a car for this part.

We are very excited to try and get drone footage of the Milvan Bridge.  Something we missed the one other time we were in Rome. Quite honestly we weren’t aware still existed LOL.  This is the site of Constantine’s famous vision of the cross during his victorious battle with Maxentius and a prelude to Rome legalizing Christianity.

We will also visit Ostia Antica, the ancient port of Rome, and see the remains of the oldest synagogue in Western Europe.

Craig made us get up 2 days in a row at 1 am to score tickets to the highest floor of the Colosseum - so it had better be amazing!

We’ve spent hours planning the visit to the forum and Vatican museum sto make sure we don’t miss things this time. Our son Jacob is coming with us so it will be an a special trip. We can’t wait to share it with you on face book each evening!
